Year 2 enjoyed their first session of Mindful Movement with James from Active Sefton. It was very calm and relaxing.

This week we made pitta bread pizzas in nursery.  We took turns, talked about our ingredients which included, tomato purée, pitta bread, cheese and sweetcorn.  We really enjoyed eating them when they were ready.  George commented “I really really really liked the sauce and the sweetcorn too!”…

We have been focusing on linear drawings and collage.

After drawing a section of tree bark and parts of a tree, we used a range of strip cuts to create a collage. 
 

We thought carefully about the choice of colours and placement of each part of the collage.

In this lesson, we considered how each action could be performed.

We continued to use counts to help stay in time with one another.

We used our list of elements found in Norse Myths to create a poem titled, ‘Inside my Norse Myth.’

The poem included expanded noun phrases, similes, metaphors and powerful verb phrases.

We worked in pairs to generate and share our ideas.

We had great fun making vegetable noodles with a lime and sweet soy dressing.

Year 1 Yoga

Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful yoga session this morning. They listened carefully to the instructions and the music whilst making the different positions.

The children have really enjoyed working as a team to make cardboard towers. We talked about towers that topple and lean. Which team could make the tallest tower?

Today the children made their own pizzas to eat at snack time. They listened carefully and followed the instructions to make delicious pitta bread pizzas. We used our senses to feel, taste and smell the ingredients and focused on the words first, next, finally.
