Explore the hardness of materials
In this lesson we explored the hardness of materials.
In groups, we used different types of rocks and tried to scratch them using: plastic, nails, coins, split pins and our fingernail.
We discovered than chalk was the easiest of the rocks to scratch.
Textiles and Collage
We have been focusing on linear drawings and collage.
After drawing a section of tree bark and parts of a tree, we used a range of strip cuts to create a collage.
We thought carefully about the choice of colours and placement of each part of the collage.
Dance - Dynamics
In this lesson, we considered how each action could be performed.
We continued to use counts to help stay in time with one another.
Poetry ‘Inside my Norse Myth’
We used our list of elements found in Norse Myths to create a poem titled, ‘Inside my Norse Myth.’
The poem included expanded noun phrases, similes, metaphors and powerful verb phrases.
We worked in pairs to generate and share our ideas.
Board Game Fun
As part of a bit of Christmas fun, the children enjoyed a board game day.
It was lovely to see the children sharing their games and smiling all day.
Printmaking
Today we have been using foam printing blocks to create prints.
We used ink rollers to apply red first to our blocks and then after letting it dry added green to our Christmas style prints.
