Here you can find out about all the different ways we engage our pupils and encourage them to take an active role in school life, having a say, making their voice heard and helping improve the quality of education and enjoyment both within the curriculum and the wider community here at English Martyrs. We are proud to have so many different pupil groups and they all play a crucial role in our school improvement journey.

Collective Worship Ambassadors
Who are we?
We are a group of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 who meet with Mrs McIntyre & Mrs Sothern on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of Collective Worship Ambassadors and were chosen specially for the role because it is a very responsible job!
What do we do?
We are involved in all aspects of collective worship in school. We help to plan and lead collective worship in our classes and have been able to take additional field trips in our role as collective worship ambassadors. We are helping to design our Prayer Garden.

Digital Leaders
Who are we?
We are a group of Key Stage pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 who meet with Mr Roach on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of Digital Leader, because it is a very responsible job!
What do we do?
We are currently underway with our training to be able to go into classrooms and teach messages of keeping safe online to the rest of the school. We will be creating some resources to help parents and children at home too, so check back.

Eco Council
Who are we?
We are a group of pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 who meet with Mrs Tierney on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of Eco Council and were chosen specially for the role because it is a very responsible job!
What do we do?
We are involved in all aspects of Eco-school environmental activities in school. We help to make sure that our school is being as environmentally friendly as possible by recycling more, being kind to the environment and helping share our knowledge across school with all classes. We have been responsible for working with Gardening Club to help improve the school grounds by planting 100s of sapling trees around the playing field as well as planting bulbs in the local community with Sefton Council. We are working with Sustrans to investigate ways we can make travel to and from our school safer and more sustainable for all.

School Council
Who are we?
We are a group of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 who meet with Mrs Jasper & Mr Dinsdale on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of School Council and were voted by our classmates, because it is a very responsible job!
What do we do?
We are involved in all aspects of school life. Our aim is to ensure that our voice is heard and makes a difference in all key decisions that affect our education and lives here in school.

Reading Ambassadors
Who are we?
We are a group of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 who meet with Mrs Blackledge on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of Reading Ambassadors and were chosen specially for the role because it is a very responsible job!
What do we do?
We are involved in promoting a love of reading in school. We read to with our Reception and Year 1 pupils. We have been helping design our new Library in school.

Science Ambassadors
Who are we?
We are a group of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 who meet with Mrs Rooney on a regular basis. We had to apply for this position of Science Ambassadors and were chosen specially for the role because it is a very responsible job - we even get to wear our very own lab coats and googles when we meet!
What do we do?
We are involved in all aspects of the Science curriculum in school. We help to plan and lead Science workshops and investigations in our classes and have been able to take additional field trips in our role as Science ambassadors. We work with Mrs Rooney and meet once every two weeks.
