Mark Making in Nursery
The children have used mirrors to look at their faces and create self-portraits in pencil. Some children also painted portraits of one another using clear plastic. The children practised drawing circles for faces and eyes and added detail to their faces.
Exploring Shape in Nursery
In Maths this week the children have been exploring shapes and building with different blocks. They recognised how ‘flat’ shapes were easier to build with and created towers, houses, robots and shops.

Representing numbers on tens frames
Today we have been working in partners to represent numbers 6, 7 and 8. Either the numeral or numicon was shown to the children showing 6, 7 or 8. They then, in partners, worked out what number was being shown and represented this on a 10s frame.

Year 6 Sports Hall Athletics
Well done to the Year 6 children who took part in the South Sefton Sportshall Athletics event this week. They demonstrated excellent team work and gave 100% in all the track and field events.
Y2 Art & Design

Observational Drawings in Nursery
The topic in art this week was observational drawings with coloured pencils. This helped the children develop their mark making skills whilst concentrating on colour, shape and size. They drew some beautiful, bright sunflowers on big paper.
