Our first session with Beth Tweddle coaches was fantastic.

This week we have started our new book ‘Naughty Bus’. We have explored some of the famous landmarks in London as part of our work.  The children have loved taking this into provision and building their own versions.

Year 1-Active Sefton-Oral Hygiene 

Ben from Active Sefton came to visit Year 1 this afternoon to talk about oral hygiene and how to keep our teeth healthy. The children were very excited to tell Ben about their wobbly teeth ???? 

Year 1 Science-What are materials? 

We have been talking about materials in class today. We looked at different objects and matched the correct label to each one. We thought about objects at home and what material they are made from.

The children have enjoyed settling back into Nursery today after the Christmas break and our new children have done brilliantly too.  We took advantage of the winter sunshine this afternoon and headed into our woodland area. Today is ‘Party Day’ in nursery. We are celebrating Christmas and the end of a wonderful term together. We have enjoyed party food and lots of dancing with our friends. 

This week the children have been making Christmas treats! First we melted some chocolate and we talked about how we had to warm the chocolate to do this. We then dipped biscuits into the chocolate and added eyes, a nose and some antlers to turn them into reindeers! We had so much…

Today the children had a lovely surprise when Father Christmas came to visit us. 

Today both nurseries came together to go on a short walk to visit Litherland’s nativity scene on the corner of Church Road. The children were really sensible crossing roads and looking around their local environment. They waved and smiled as people passed us and were excited to spot a police car…

Year 1- Design & Technology

We have been learning about the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.  We have looked at different methods of joining- slots, flaps and flanges. We then designed our own amazing towers. We will build our towers this week in class. 

On Friday, the children enjoyed a Santa dash around the playground in their Christmas jumpers.
