Year 1- Painting 

We have been very busy in Year 1 this afternoon. We have been developing different brushstrokes and learning the dip,dip,dab method when applying paint. We made different marks with the primary colours- circles,dots and large ‘c’ shapes. 

Day 1 at CHET and it has certainly been a busy one. After arriving and enjoying our lunches, we headed into the woods to tackle the orienteering course. The children completed a range of obstacles and it was wonderful to see so many of them conquer their fear of heights by taking part on the zip…

Day 3 and the final day at CHET for Miss Gray's class. We started off walking back into the woods and doing bushcraft, which involved learning how to light a fire from flint and lock and then toasting marshmallows on a fire to make smores!

The children in nursery have been very busy making Christmas cakes. They have used their senses to smell and feel the different ingredients and have listened carefully to the instructions. They helped one another and took turns stirring, cutting, mixing and pouring the different ingredients.…

The children and staff were all excited to take part in Odd Sock Day!  We are kind to each other every day in Reception, and have talked about the importance of this. 

We remembered the soldiers who died for us.  We all made a poppy to put in the window.  We observed the two minutes silence by watching the CBeebies ‘Poppies”. 

To begin our Geography topic the children walked to Tesco in groups and looked in the fruit aisle to investigate where different fruits have come from.

Year 5 have been exploring the issue of road safety.

The children discussed,  ‘How can we keep ourselves safe on the roads?’

We looked at the work of Emily Brooke and her invention, ‘Blaze - The Ultimate Light.’

We then designed posters explaining how the products keep cyclists…

This week the children have been learning about multiples and factors.

We explored the different ways we can identify a multiple of 2,3,4 and 5.

This week, Year 5 has been exploring poetry focusing on the poem ‘Jinnie Ghost.’ 

In groups, the children looked at different images related to the poem and selected vocabulary that would fit each one. We discussed the poems use of similes, repetition and choice of verbs.
