Magical Mess!
To some this might look like a messy busy classroom. To us it is a creative, collaborative creation that the children have worked hard on all afternoon and are rightly proud of. It represents relationships, compromise, dialogue, decision making, flexible thinking, resilience, perseverance and…
Making Repeated Patterns in Nursery
In Maths, we have been listening for patterns and finding the beat in different nursery rhymes and songs. We have also been looking at patterns around us - spotty, stipy, swirly. Today we identified and made our own repeated patterns with a partner. The children talked about their pattern and were…
Clay Modelling in Nursery
The children in nursery are developing and strengthening their fine motor skills to create minibeasts using clay. They are rolling, pinching, and poking to make different shapes and patterns.
Year 2 Art & Design
Year 2 used magazine images and their own previous work to create a collage.
3D bowls
Using PVA glue, tissue paper and cling film, the children created 3D bowls.
They selected analogous colours (colours next to each other on the colour wheel) for their designs.
Easter Fun in Nursery A & B
This week the children have enjoyed taking part in Easter activities. They have decorated Easter biscuits, painted eggs and been on an Easter hunt.
Love, love, love!
Today we have enjoyed creating some valentines crafts for our families.
Chinese New Year in Nursery
The children have been learning about Chinese New Year and looking at images and clips of the parade in Liverpool. Some children also created Chinese numbers up to 5 using different coloured paints.
Creating mandalas
As part of our art topic we have been studying mandalas. These patterns are used in Hinduism and Buddhism and use concentric circles.
Mark Making in Nursery
The children have used mirrors to look at their faces and create self-portraits in pencil. Some children also painted portraits of one another using clear plastic. The children practised drawing circles for faces and eyes and added detail to their faces.
