Nursery A - Christmas Cake Adventure

A power cut in nursery didn’t stop the fun and learning this week. We used torches to find our way around nursery, exploring light, dark and shadows.

As part of our Communication and Language work, we have been reading the book Home by Carson Ellis. The children have been building different homes within the nursery provision. They have produced some fantastic creations.
Musical Moments
The children have enjoyed exploring different sounds on our new music wall that the children created together this week. We listened to the sounds the wooden items made when hit and described how they are different to the sounds created by striking metal objects.
Nature Art
This week we are learning about the work of Andy Goldsworthy known as Nature’s Artist. Inspired by his work we have been using a variety of natural materials to create faces and patterns.
