The children have had lots of fun coming to nursery in their favourite pyjamas. 

The children have been learning about Chinese New Year and looking at images and clips of the parade in Liverpool. Some children also created Chinese numbers up to 5 using different coloured paints. 

The children enjoy playing and exploring in our woodland area in all weathers. 

The children have used mirrors to look at their faces and create self-portraits in pencil. Some children also painted portraits of one another using clear plastic. The children practised drawing circles for faces and eyes and added detail to their faces.

In Maths this week the children have been exploring shapes and building with different blocks. They recognised how ‘flat’ shapes were easier to build with and created towers, houses, robots and shops.

Well done to the Year 6 children who took part in the South Sefton Sportshall Athletics event this week. They demonstrated excellent team work and gave 100% in all the track and field events. 

The topic in art this week was observational drawings with coloured pencils. This helped the children develop their mark making skills whilst concentrating on colour, shape and size. They drew some beautiful, bright sunflowers on big paper.

The children are continuing to enjoy reading the ‘Naughty Bus’ by Jan and Jerry Oke. This week they decided to make their own bus so they could travel around London seeing all the famous landmarks. This week we have been looking for patterns around us including patterns in stories and songs. The children used chalks to create different patterns including spots, swirls, lines and zigzags. We then created patterns using peg boards and numicon. Together we also used lummi sticks to repeat…

The children are enjoying talking, taking turns and playing together outdoors. They are collecting natural resources to make potions, hot chocolates and cups of warm tea. They are also practising moving and balancing on the the equipment.

Over the last week the children have been helping our new children settle into new routines. They are making new friends, playing together and getting to know one another.
