We focused on Tamanrasset in Algeria and explored what it must be like to live there and some of the challenges the people might face.

Today, we started our new topic on volcanoes. We looked at the different layers of the Earth, and used play-dough to create them. Ask us about the different layers of the Earth! 

The children used a range of different maps and Google Earth to find some London landmarks.

Year 1 Geography

Year 1 have been learning about the four countries of the UK. We have talked about the different places we may have visited and the capital cities. The children matched the labels and pictures to the map. 

There might not have been much snow in our area, but we certainly made the most of it!

The children in nursery are interested in learning about animals that live in cold climates. We have looked at different animals that live in the Arctic including polar bears, snowy owls and arctic foxes. We have also been exploring what happens to ice as it melts.  

In Nursery we love taking on different roles.  Throughout the year we use hats, bags, shoes, clothes to be whoever we want to be.  In the run up to Christmas we have introduced a variety of more recognisable costumes into nursery and the children have had so much fun.  One area of our classroom…
