Christmas card designs are on the go in Reception! The children are using water colours to carefully create their design. 

This week the children are enjoying making handprint salt dough decorations to hang on their Christmas trees at home. We will be painting and decorating our decorations next week. 

We love every opportunity to practise our gross motor skills in the garden!

We love using the big blocks in the outdoor resource area.  Here we have created a strong house made from bricks, concrete and a tiled roof! This should keep out the big bad wolf!

Christmas preparation is in full swing in Reception.  We are slowly working our way through costumes for our Nativity play.  Watch out for any lines in book bags this week.  

The children in nursery are continuing to read ‘The Three Little Pigs’. This week we are focusing on the wolf and have created our own Watch Out! posters. The children have drawn and described the wolf remembering vocabulary from the text.

We were so excited to see the snow on Tuesday morning.  Although there wasn’t that much we certainly made the most of it! Apart from a few cold hands we had a great time. 

The children in nursery have been learning about our different seasons and this week they were able to explore what snow and ice feel like. The children talked about ‘wrapping up warm’ and preparing for the winter months ahead. 

We wasted no time in making the most of the sprinkling of snow we had this morning, learning a ‘sprinkling’ of new snow related vocabulary too!  We used lots of teamwork to pull the heavy sledge and even more teamwork to throw snowballs at the adults!  Smiles all round and despite our cold hands…
