Over the past few weeks the children have been really interested in pumpkins. They have brought pumpkins in to use in our learning, and told us about visits to pumpkin patches. We have used pumpkins in our maths counting and comparing activities, created and investigated pumpkin potions, shared books pumpkins and used golf tees and wooden hammers to make holes in pumpkins to develop our fine motor skills. We also been using pumpkins in our independent play both inside and outside. On Wednesday we baked pumpkin muffins. To top it off we received a very generous donation of a huge pumpkin for our nursery garden which has been very popular with visitors from other year groups!
