Year 2 Monster Doodle Masterclass
Year 2 joined a Children’s University masterclass where we heard from an illustrator called Laura who does animations for CBeebies. She demonstrated how to draw a range of amazing monsters and then the children all had a go.
History Y2
This afternoon the children were comparing the lives and works of Florence Nightingale and Kitty Wilkinson. They worked as a group to sort facts into a Venn diagram.
English: The Three Little Pigs
The children worked in small groups to complete a role on the wall activity describing the appearance and personality of the wolf in the story.
Design & Technology: Textiles
The children worked in table groups to do a range of fine motor skills activities. The focus activity was sewing a felt door onto a felt house wall.
Year 2 PE Skipping
The children played some jumping warm up games before practising individual skipping techniques.
Year 2 PE Skipping
The children practised their jumping and team work skills when using french skipping ropes.
Year 2 Design & Technology
The children used a cardboard template and a tangle of wrapping paper to create their own version of a patchwork quilt.

Art and Design: Drawing
The children experimented with ripping different types of paper and explored making marks with black paint.
Year 2 Design and Technology: Structures
In D & T the children have been testing out differsnt ways to use paper to build structures of varying strength. One group managed a structure of card that was nine storeys high today!
