Today in our Nutrition unit, the children made pitta crisps. They used the bridge technique to cut their pitta bread into triangular shaped pieces and then mixed them in olive oil and mixed herbs before they were baked in the oven. Prior to the practical part of the lesson we discussed how crisps that are bought in shops are a convenient snack but they often contain high levels of salt and cooking methods tend not to be healthy. These pitta crisps are a much healthier alternative.
